Elder Rober D. Hales from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has a great talk about becoming provident providers.  He  explains how going in to debt makes us not only temporally poor but also spiritually poor and when we go in to debt we put ourselves into self-imposed servitude.  He gives great counsel about provident living that can benefit us if we follow his words.
